Lena Melnikova
art-photographer (Moscow light painter)
I have been doing photography for more than 10 years, or rather, I create the illusion of 3D space in a 2D plane. I photograph in almost all genres. I really love taking pictures of people, I think everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way, so I try to do everything to convey it in the photo.I practice both classical portraits and the FINE ART direction in photography — this is an opportunity to combine an artist and a photographer in one person. A special place in my work is occupied by architecture, urban landscapes, because I am an architect by profession and most of my life I have been engaged in architectural design of residential and public buildings, interior design. With my photographic works, I strive to create beauty and images that touch the feelings of the viewer, make people a little happier, help increase their self-esteem and accept themselves. No wonder a session with a photographer is often compared to a session with a psychologist.
The main place of photography is Moscow and its environs, Moscow studios. I am always open to new acquaintances and I will be glad to work together on new projects.
F A Q
Answering your questions.
Thank you, I will be glad to work on creating your portrait
How long does the shoot take?
From 1,5-2 hours (the shortest simple photoshoot) and until the full implementation of the plan (depending on the number and complexity of the images)
I have no experience in posing, can you help?
Yes, don’t worry, I’ll tell you how to stand up / sit down, what to do with your hands, I’ll help you create the right emotion.
How often am I in Moscow?
I live in Moscow. I’m leaving for different cities for a short time. In summer, often on the road.
Can you bring friends with you?
If you plan to invite a friend to shoot, you need to warn me about this in advance.
What to take with you to the shoot?
Take 4-5 different sets of clothes with you. Natural and classic colors without modern prints, skirts and maxi and midi dresses (mini do not fit), it’s great if one of the clothing items (skirt, petticoat, veil) is translucent. A comb will also come in handy. Don’t forget suitable shoes with clean soles. The mood to work will come in handy, as a good result is a consequence of the mutual collaboration of the model and the photographer.
What is not needed for a FINE ART portrait?
Decorative cosmetics are not suitable for portraits in this style. But this does not exclude a neat appearance. Nail polish is bright, colored is not suitable. It should be transparent or solid, preferably short and without a decorative pattern. Clothing that clearly indicates modernity, distracting from the face, with an excessive amount of modern details, should also be left for another occasion.
Photo rights, what is a Model Release?
You get the rights to the photos taken during the photo session for any private use. For commercial use, an agreement with the photographer is required. The photographer has the right to use the photos taken during the photo session for their own promotion on the Internet, use them in social networks, the photographer’s website and exhibit them at exhibitions, publish them in magazines. You sign the Model Release (Model release to use photos from the photo shoot) on the day of the photo shoot. If you do not agree with the use of photos, please let me know in advance and I will not use them.
How will I receive my photos?
Photos are transmitted electronically. Printed products and framing are not included in the cost of works and are calculated individually according to the wishes of each client.
